Overview:

My name is Lorance Smith. I’ve been playing music and learning about instruments and audio since I was 7 years old. After several years of working in music stores as a young adult, I began offering various freelance services to my local music community. Over time, what started as a fun tagline, “Hire Me to Fix your Guitar”, became my life’s work. 

After founding O’Brian Guitarworks in 2021, I have since secured dealerships with Seymour Duncan, Jim Dunlop Products, and Hipshot to name a few. I personally built my own full-service guitar repair and modification shop that caters to my standards, and ensures a quality product.

At its core, my skill set is rooted in problem solving, with a specialty in maintaining scratch-built systems. Applied to music technology, this approach allows me to learn everything I need to know about the gear or the task inside and out.

Of course, my passion for teching stems from a passion for music. I enjoy writing, producing, recording, and performing music as often as I can. I try to do these things regularly through various projects and collaborations with peers in all different parts of the music community around me. I love new experiences and getting fresh air, which music allows me to do the most.
